Welcome to D’Genes !

The greatest part of life is to realise and appreciate life as it is. One of my ways of doing so is to appriciate my ancestors and what they did – which again somehow resulted in myself… The genealogy part of AkkuratD has focus on both directions in my family tree. Going back in time finding my anscestors is one task – but perhaps even more interesting is the task to find relatives still alive either it is my grand-dad’s sister-in-law’s grandchildren – or my cousine.

My ancestors originates basically from the area around Bergen (north, south, west and east of), i.e. Lindås, Ytre Sogn, Evanger, Austevoll. These are places where there are available quite some documentation – fortunately, at least back in to the late 1600 and early 1700. Therefore I have quite easily found information about my ancestors, but the registration and verification work is of course both time-consuming and often not so easy.

Please mail me if you have any questions, requests or interesing updates on the genealogy research. If you like to contact me via snailmail use:  Frode Dyrdal, Orrestien 1D, N-4022 Stavanger, Norway. Halstensen

The 100-year anniversary of the K.Halstensen A/S company was held in Bekkjarvik 3rd of May 1997. At this celebration I made a little booklet identifying the ancestors of Ole and Karine Halstensen. This booklet is the basis of what shown here. I wish to keep the information updated, so if You have any corrections or additional information I certainly would appriciate if You sent it to me: This email address is being protected from spambots. The Halstensen information is only available in Norwegian and is to be found here at this link.

Dyrdal

My family originates basically from the western parts of Norway, more specific from Hordaland. My mothers family comes from Austevoll south and west of Bergen, and my farthers family comes from the areas between Bergen and Voss.

My family name Dyrdal is taken from a little farm whilst my grand-grand-grandfather lived there from May 10th 1870, and my grand-grandfather sold out June 27th 1905.

There are several families with the Dyrdal name but my parents, my brother and his childeren, my children and myself is the only persons with Dyrdal as family name from our ancestors. Other people with Dyrdal as family name is not directly related to us, but there might of course be common ancestors.
